I've lived on a farm since 1970.  Not always the one where I've resided for the last 38 years, but outside of the city limits always. Love the freedom, the wildlife, and the peace, but there's one thing I'd really like to have out here in the boondocks - pizza delivery.

The phone book seems to be going the way of other things no longer needed or of much use. I actually have a drawer full of phone books, no doubt some ready for the recycling bin. The girl in the scarlet satin dress dragged the toes of her red shoes in the loose gravel of the alley. The bouquet was encased,  but not protected  by a shiny plastic wrapper and was beginning to droop, reflecting the girl's attitude and absorbing heat from her sweaty palms.  Her destination was close and each step she took was slower.

There is a fine line between nervousness and excitement. The two emotions share certain physical manifestations, sweaty palms, jiggly tummy, and sometimes difficulty in swallowing. I've been thinking I am nervous about my upcoming Colorado adventure, but I'm certain that I will benefit from viewing it as sheer unadulterated excitement.

Ok, who took it? I laid it right there on the coffee table last night and now it's gone. I suspect it was the cats. They are known for their stealthy night activities and for hiding small objects which I never find  again. I do wonder what they will do with my eye drops.

Get up in the morning and try to remember the smile that should be on my face. Remember all in my life for which I am grateful, my family and I are all healthy, so very important. I am well fed, financially stable, and have a garden giving me clean food every day.

Why follow the yellow brick road of course. Because at the end lies the great and glorious OZ who can and will grant all our wishes,  fulfill our desires and give us what we need to make us feel whole.  Even if that only means going home.

A small crystal ball sits on the edge of the bathtub. I've had it for many years and no matter how hard or deep I look, I can only see the room turned upside down.

Hands down, the most joyous moment in my life was the birth of my granddaughter, Anah. She is not my first grandchild nor my last, but she is my favorite. Yeah I know I'm not supposed to have a favorite, but I do.

Her mother lived with my husband and I during her pregnancy. I have 3 other daughters but Anah's mother,Erin,is my husband's only ( Read more... )
